US Dollar Steadies Against Egypt Pound, UK Pound 0.2% Up

On Thursday, the US dollar’s exchange rate steadied at EGP 6.9262 for buying and EGP 6.9563 for selling coinciding with Banks in Egypt announcement to halt operations on the occasion of Sinai Liberation Day. Saudi riyal also remained with no change at EGP 1.8417 for buying and EGP 1.9337 for selling. The same with the UAE dirham which steadied at EGP 1.8842 for buying and EGP 1.9582 for selling. For the foreign currencies, Euro, pound sterling and yen rose; while Swiss franc fell on Thursday. Euro increased to EGP 8.9913 for buying and EGP 9.3939 for selling, opposed to Wednesday’s levels of EGP 8.9851 for buying and EGP 9.386 for selling. Pound sterling’s price also surged to EGP 10.5479 for buying and EGP 11.0205 for selling, compared to Wednesday’s levels of EGP 10.5396 for buying and EGP 11.0104 for selling. More»
U.K. Pound Rallies After GDP Beats Expectations

The U.K. pound rallied against most major currencies on Thursday, after gross-domestic-product data showed the country avoided slipping into a triple-dip recession in the first quarter. The economy expanded by 0.3%, exceeding expectations of a 0.1% improvement. The pound rose to $1.5424 from trading around $1.53 ahead of the data and up from $1.5265 in late North America trade on Wednesday. US Dollar Rises Against Egypt Pound To EGP 6.95 In Banks

On Wednesday, the US dollar’s exchange rate rose against the Egyptian pound to EGP 6.9262 for buying and EGP 6.9563 for selling, compared to the early trading levels of EGP 6.9176 for buying and EGP 6.9477 for selling. Euro also increased to EGP 8.9851 for buying and EGP 9.386 for selling, opposed to early levels of EGP 8.9595 for buying and EGP 9.3614 for selling. Pound sterling’s price put up to EGP 10.5396 for buying and EGP 11.0104 for selling, compared to earlier levels of EGP 10.5073 for buying and EGP 10.9773 for selling. For the Swiss franc, it has slightly advanced to EGP 7.2759 for buying and EGP 7.6058 for selling, opposed to earlier levels of EGP 7.2684 for buying and EGP 7.6036 for selling.
