EGX Suspends Trading For 30 Mins After Index Surges On Election Result

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has suspended trading for half an hour on Monday after share prices soared following the country's presidential election result.
The benchmark index EGX30 was up 6.8% by 10:20 GMT (12:20 local time) - and share trading was suspended briefly after the broader EGX 100 rose 5 percent, its daily limit
Among the most heavily traded stocks were Orascom Telecom Media and Technology (OTMT.CA), up 5.2%, and Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) (OCIC.CA), which gained 7.9%.
